Discover more about the serenity and luxury
of the peech boutique hotel
This picturesque boutique hotel is set in the heart of a 95 acre riverside valley. Home to the Peech family periodically since 1912, the estate and hotel are still owned and run by them. Over the past forty years, Christo and Noelene Peech have bred 500 thoroughbred racehorses on these pastures. Although now reduced in size, the stud farm is still actively producing racehorses for the local and South African markets.
There are horses everywhere. Warmblood jumping horses work in the arena. Thoroughbred broodmares patiently wait their turn and young stock grow quietly in irrigated paddocks. It is within this peaceful equine environment that the Peech Boutique Hotel has risen out of the ruins of the old stud stables – and into a new and exciting venture.
Every aspect of the hotel has been constructed by the estate’s own artisans, including roofing timber cut onsite. Its beautifully finished and luxurious rooms nevertheless give a constant reminder of the stable yard that once was here.

Up on the high ground, towering over the Hotel, stands the original Peech residence, constructed from quarried rock during the Great War (1914 – 1919).
The lake below curves around the hill: giving rise to the theme of flowing, living water which is the very spirit of The Peech Hotel. Physically borne out by its numerous courtyard troughs and fountains.
The peace, tranquility and history of the hotel’s surroundings are immediately felt by visitors and guests.
